18 March 2015

thoughts for morning -

mjd - rise awaken and shine 2015

as the sun rises
and the moon sets

may i begin my day
awake.

may i move through
each moment
mindfully
lightly
and with clarity.

a heart
bursting with love
a mind
propped open,
may i shine
to lessen
the darkness
of another being's
suffering.

capturing stillness

fragile strength talisman/be still - mjd 2014

at first
we seem to catch moments
of stillness

the way we did
fireflies
as children.

seeing their flashing light,
we would run carefully
up to them
trying to catch them
ever so gently
in cupped hands.

exciting and unique moments,

we feel like
it must have been the place
or time
that brought it into being
for us.

and so we return
to that place or time
to find it again.

awareness
trickles in
as we contemplate
how to return to to this place
of tranquility.

we begin to notice
that stillness
is not about
external circumstances
or
perfect states of being,

nor
are they required to be
present first for
stillness to exist.

as our moments accumulate,
they grow closer and closer
together.

in the gathering awareness,
we come to realize
that moments of quietude
are always within our grasp.

we hold the key
to make them manifest.

and with that knowledge,
we walk in light.

transcend

fragile strength talisman/transcend - mjd 2013

there are moments in
time

places

where everything fades away.

all we think we know,
all of the distractions,
dissipate

leaving us unbearably,
beautifully
open.

fragile strength talisman/transcend - mjd 2013

we connect -

not to one person
or earthling,
but to all.

we vibrate with life.

these moments pass,
but they serve as imperative reminders
of our ability to transcend

and of the human we met
when all was removed
and yet all was present.

25 March 2010

why can't we be friends?

'our task must be to free ourselves...
by widening our circle of compassion
to embrace all living creatures
and the whole of nature and its beauty.'
~ albert einstein

beautifully glazed circle pendant by leann weih became the focal of this bracelet... wrapped in terracotta sari ribbon and adorned with lapis which is believed to be a yin yang balancer and  healer of emotional wounds... faux leather strap and handknotted apatite, bronzite, orange aventurine and apple coral are paired... 'extend your circle' now available in my etsy shop...

things are draining this week - thank goodness for beautiful components that sweep me away and help me to channel my emotions~
