waiting for others to come to you.
you have to go to them sometimes.'

renate's postcards reminded me of these... my great-great-grandfather sometime in the late 1800s travelled abroad... to switzerland and to germany... from what we were told, these were nailed into a walking stick, mementos of towns visited... the detail on them is quite beautiful...
i think of people we know who make molds from old pieces - and how much fun it would be to use these...
and i wonder if renate has come by these in her flea market adventures... feel free to share any info or ideas you might have... i am coming up blank on google searches...
my daughter is hoping to travel abroad in college... i encourage her... it only gets harder as you get older and have more responsibilities... and i have that list of places i want to go... really need to make that happen somehow... but for now, i am so grateful to have met people from all over the world...

there is no end to the adventures that we can have
if only we seek them with our eyes open.'

early this morning, i came down to let the cat out... just like a highlights hidden pictures page, can you find something(s) in this picture? am guessing it was the work of emily last night - she loves to eat snow... but she is still sleeping and so i have to ask her later...
happy sunday!
