aglow

i have always been (and still am) a green kind of girl... 


but lately

i find myself drawn to reds and oranges

relishing in their warmth and fire... 

six month notice

(must be the lack of sleep that has made me brave this morning... 

oh, hey, i notice my son has been in his bank! hmmm... )

in exactly six months, you will have the opportunity to celebrate international peace day... why am i bringing this up now? because i had an idea and ran it by a friend... then started to reach out to others wondering if they might like to get involved... and personally, i like to have some time to think about things and then execute them to my liking - 

here's the idea - you make a set of prayer flags in whatever way speaks to you - metal, paper, fiber, anything you wish to use... then hang them... take a picture of them in situ and share on september 21st... maybe we can have a central list going - i was thinking of making a page where you can add your name and link to it... 


adding our wishes to so many others in the world can only magnify the effect... 


in the meantime, i have been thinking about making necklaces -

our family has had reason over the past 10 years to spend a good deal of time at the children's hospital of philadelphia... and the end is not in sight... but that's ok and another story!

there is a huge list of things i love about chop - but i wanted to share these 'artlings' that were created from the drawings of kids being cared for in the oncology wing... they hang in the windows overlooking the atrium... and i love them... it must have been so wonderful for these kids to see their drawings become 3 dimensional... besides being cute, they reinforce to those who walk the halls that each bed, each appointment is filled by a living, breathing child... with a family... with joy and fear and sometimes pain... with an imagination, hopes and dreams... and who, illness aside, is just a kid...
