'o, wind, if winter comes,
can spring be far behind?'
~ percy bysshe shelley
this is definitely premature, but i don't feel so badly because i see others creating things with flowers and butterflies and spring-y type colors...
i started with hammered wire and added fibers and fabric, semi-precious stones and lampwork glass... they began to remind me of twigs, waiting for spring, for flowers and leaves to burst forth... and so i call them 'twig dreams'...
'every great dream begins with a dreamer.
always remember, you have within you
the strength, the patience and the passion
to reach for the stars and change the world.'

Such pretty earrings! It's never too soon to start thinking spring when it's this cold. Brrr!
ReplyDeleteDivine! I love what you do with fiber. It is always interesting and just right. Spring? Well I for one am ready for the first hyacinth and dafodils. I think designing with spring in mind is just right at the beginning of February. It really won't be long now.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely in the mood for a bit of warmth, really pretty earrings! Is that silk fiber ? xx
ReplyDeleteIt feels like spring here in the desert, hence the splash of color I've begun adding to my designs, wardrobe and home! I love the new earrings and hope it starts to feel like spring for you soon.
ReplyDeleteI have to force myself into color at the moment, but I am more than ready for it! I am hoping that 2010 will be a more color filled year for me. I tend to the blacks and grays and browns and metallics. I think that pops of color are necessary all around. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the day! Erin
ReplyDeleteI love the new earrings and especially how you displayed them to take the shot, very cool!
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more with Miss Harriet Tubman!
I love your new earrings!!! You have been making awesome jewelry with fibers. As for spring I am off to Tucson in 2 days so hope it will feel like spring. I need some warm weather and sunshine.

Oh, these are so fabulous! I love the frayed edges and the metal peeking out under the silk.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't I get to your etsy from your blog?
ReplyDeleteI need to talk to you....
Lovely earrings, and you know spring is near, who cares what that 50 pound rodent says!
ReplyDeleteI love those! Great color and definitely making me think Spring! I am really feeling that trend too, in my own work. I want to get out flowers and green things... :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous earrings Maire!
I love your new blog banner !
ReplyDeleteMary Jane, what beautiful earrings! I am joining you in the quest for Spring (right on the brink of the winter storm that is coming!). Your new banner looks great - I noticed it right away. I love that quotation from Einstein.
ReplyDeleteCindy
I'd love to try something with yarn, but struggling with how to make it my own -- can you email me???? I have an idea.....
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible design, Maire! I love them! Innovative and edgy but not "weird" - some uncommon, shall we say, jewelry can be downright weird but these earrings are unique (and I do not use that word a lot - I save it for what is really unique) - well done! oxox AJ
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm channelling spring somethin' serious, and your earrings are right in line with that -- Lovely! That's an awesome Harriet Tubman quote, too! Thanks for sharing!
