'it is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief
that human history is shaped.
each time a man stands up for an ideal,
or acts to improve the lot of others,
or strikes out against injustice,
he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.'
~ robert francis kennedy
this small stream running down my street is what is left over from the accumulations of a blizzard and the storm of this past weekend... the ripples, though small, move significant amounts of water... their effort is steady... they move over and around obstacles...
in any size, great or small, create a ripple today ~
I love that..."create a ripple", so well said.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, Maire, I seem to create turbulence!
ReplyDeleteI think, and hope, I am always trying to do that!
ReplyDeleteWell, I am experiencing a ripple of hope today - the sun is out, it hasn't snowed and the temperature is mild!
ReplyDeleteI certainly will try, thank you. (hugs)
ReplyDeleteI am thinking that most days I create Waves!! But I create good ripples and I do make a difference. Libra you know!

I will, in my own quiet way.
ReplyDeleteThis is very sweet. I love how you can take a moment of your day and turn it into poetry with a quote...the connections to larger meanings are pretty amazing!
ReplyDeletei hope you haven't had too much storminess ; ) xx
ReplyDeleteTruely lovely.
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing steady streams here too from the melting snow. I love how you point out that the ripples of water move over and around obstacles.... a great analogy for us to apply to our lives.
