i come upon horseshoe crabs (both living and dead) by the river and they cause me to contemplate time... they have been around for over 450 million years... and for about 250 million years they have remained unchanged...
'your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. and most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. they somehow already know what you truly want to become. everything else is secondary.'

ReplyDeleteWonderful quote!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing that some creatures have been on this earth basically unchanged for such a long time?
Did Em get a new tatoo????
They are so remarkably ancient looking.. much like a stone with eyes and legs.
ReplyDeletehorseshoe crabs are the dinosaurs of the sea aren't they? you and i are certainly drawn to things of the ocean....in my early days I was a marine biology major and these crabs are quite amazing creatures..used for medicinal purposes and they can survive a year without eating...
ReplyDeleteEm would love a studio close to here that is owned by a glassblower...fabulous works and you can see the process!
I owe you an email.. haven't forgotten...xo
This is interesting on so many levels. The quote paired with the horseshoe crabs....Do we follow our voice even if it means we remain unchanged? Do we change despite what our environments are telling us?

I surprised myself the other day. I won't go into the situation, but the first comment out of my mouth was "you know how much I don't like change". I've been thinking about it a lot.
ReplyDeleteIs EM taking a class or what this a trial demo?
