we know
we know.
and yet we fight it.
we know.
and yet we fight it.
fragile strength talisman - shine - mjd 2013
to know light,
we must know darkness.
in the depths of the pit,
when it rises past your nose
and your eyes are at risk of sinking beneath
that which is known
and that which is unknown,
that which is known
and that which is unknown,
you'll see it.
the light.
it may be small,
seem dim,
but it's there.
it is all you need to begin the ascent.
you define how you rise.
mjd - 2013
and while the work is yours,
you have never been alone.
as it grows in strength
you notice,
it's no longer in front of you,
but within you.
what you saw from the deep
was the light of another.
the opportunity is revealed -
with your strengthening glow
will you show the way
to another who is lost?
mjd - 2013
shine on.
the stones are?
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your extraordinary light, Maire.
ReplyDeleteYour words?
ReplyDeleteA prolific thought! I'm contemplating how it applies to my life...in so many ways both artistically and especially personally. I'm going to be thinking of this all day and hope someone sees my lite.
Much love.
Shine on
ReplyDeleteThis resonates ... and reminds me of a book ~ Circle of Stones, by Judith Duerk. About the necessity of sinking into the depths to find ourselves. And always asking ... How might our lives have been different if we had been given this gift ... the gift of saying the descent is okay and needed .... as a child. Thank you for the reminder mary jane. In gratitude.
ReplyDeleteYour words so reminded me of a book ~ The Circle of Stones, by Judith Duerk. She talks about the necessity of the descent to find ourselves, shaken free from convention and norms; and she asks us ... How might our lives have been different if we had been given this gift of honouring the descent as a child ... Thank you for the reminder mary jane. In gratitude.
