Good to know. I'm thinking about taking my son to see it this weekend so thanks for the review!
Oh me, oh my! I cannot wait to go! Thanks for sharing your first impressions...if you like it, I know I will. Enjoy the day! Erin
I loved it too! And cried like a baby at the end. as usual!! :) WE just got home from seeing it. It was outstanding. On so many levels.
yes, it certainly was outstanding... it was 10 years in the making... seriously, we have the book by julie taymor about the making of broadway's 'the lion king' ... i am getting the same type of book for this film... that good... so glad you felt like i did, l... it was very, very deep...
So interesting to hear, I usually veer strongly away from anything derived from a book (except Harry Potter), especially a children's book. I adore the illustrations, well, everything about children's literature (fortunately I can justify frequent purchases as a result of the day job). Since I connect so strongly to the book, I'm usually so disappointed by movie versions. The preview of this one looked pretty darn visually stunning though. Except I will not go the theater if it's going to make me cry :)
Somehow, I missed out on this book as a child. Wasn't in our school library, apparently. Will have to check it out.
it is powerfully drawn & the words are minimal... it leaves much to the reader to ponder...
Oh Yay! I think I'm goning to go out to see it. Thanks for the review!
Glad to hear it was a hit. The book was so cute but said a lot for imagination. I was wondering if the movie would ruin the magic.
no magic ruined - enhanced if anything ... hard to believe, but true!
your thoughts and time are respected - thank you... responses back to you will arrive privately.
