we're back -

just got in from viewing 'where the wild things are' ... for me, this was - in regard to both cinematography and storytelling - quite simply one of the most raw and beautiful movies ever ... and, yes, i am a very sensitive person, but still...

  5. So interesting to hear, I usually veer strongly away from anything derived from a book (except Harry Potter), especially a children's book. I adore the illustrations, well, everything about children's literature (fortunately I can justify frequent purchases as a result of the day job). Since I connect so strongly to the book, I'm usually so disappointed by movie versions. The preview of this one looked pretty darn visually stunning though. Except I will not go the theater if it's going to make me cry :)

  6. Somehow, I missed out on this book as a child. Wasn't in our school library, apparently. Will have to check it out.

  7. it is powerfully drawn & the words are minimal... it leaves much to the reader to ponder...

  9. Glad to hear it was a hit. The book was so cute but said a lot for imagination. I was wondering if the movie would ruin the magic.
