in pursuit of peace

people i care about are struggling with different things -

big things...

it leaves me feeling helpless...

sometimes stamping words is enough,

but today it felt cold...

so i heated the metal to glowing red

and folded it...

and heated it to glowing red

and opened it, gently...

creating not the crisper edges of most of my leaves,

but a soft opening form like a petal...

as the night progressed, they began to turn into a small pile

like offerings...

  1. that is a beautiful offering you have made. to make the blessings and prayers into a tangible object. and i know from experience that they will feel silky and look like folds of fabric. and maybe by making it a concrete representation of your positive affirmations it will become more real.
    thinking of you...

  6. MD - the feel of the beat and heat of metal - such a calming and transporting place - lovely way to send vibes to those who need them or to ourselves; and creating a stash is like adding prayer tokens for others. Love the colours created by the additional annealing. Go well. B

  8. Lovely words and thoughts. The best that one can hope to achieve I suspect. Nice to have a physical reminder of them.

  9. WOW! I am totally digging what you did with the focal. That was so clever and added a lot to the design. I love all of the texture and fiber. Great job!

  11. I find it odd that I never commented on this post so I'm grateful you offered an opportunity to revisit. I've been privileged to watch you blossom this past year. Opening your petals, trusting yourself to the light that is healing your heart. The petals didn't find you, they are you.
