mjd - 2016 - amazonite & riverstone japa mala

with trembling voice
and shaking confidence
you question -
why am i here
what is my purpose
who can i touch
when do i begin
how do i know?

mjd - 2016

the moment is now.
breathe deeply
open your heart
find your place
of stillness and power.
attend to the one you are with
let the love flow
and, most of all,
trust.

mjd - 2016

the sky is big and blue and deep
the earth is solid at your feet
you belong
to all that is.
stand within it
in grace and strength
and believe.

the truth you hold
is needed
at each and every moment.
chin up
shoulders square
heart soft
mind clear.
what you offer
is held by none other.
make the difference
that is yours alone to create.

gentle strength at the seat of your personal power

solar plexus amplifier
center of personal power
and location of the third chakra,
this heavy sterling disc sits there.

mjd 2015

combine the location with the intention -
my morning mantra:

as the moon sets
and the sun rises
may i begin my day awake.

may i move through
each moment
mindfully
lightly
and with clarity.

a heart
bursting with love

a mind
propped open,

may i shine
to lessen
the darkness
of
another being's
suffering.

imagine standing tall
chin up
shoulders back
feet firmly planted and set at hip width
arms raised -
I AM.

with absolute acceptance
and self love,
putting aside any shame
that keeps you in the shadows,
with full knowledge not only
of your place in the world
but that your time is limited.

your life matters -
there are things you offer,
special things that make a difference.

get clear on your intentions
keep them front and center
make adjustments when necessary.

don't slip into inertia
and don't fear your abilities.

you are beautiful.
you are able.
you are.

in motion

i have been enjoying working with hoops -

for their kinetic nature

for the way they can spin if you don't restrict them.

setting an om on each

allows them to act like a tibetan prayer wheel,

setting a beautiful intention out into the world

for all to benefit ...

in pursuit of peace

people i care about are struggling with different things -

big things...

it leaves me feeling helpless...

sometimes stamping words is enough,

but today it felt cold...

so i heated the metal to glowing red

and folded it...

and heated it to glowing red

and opened it, gently...

creating not the crisper edges of most of my leaves,

but a soft opening form like a petal...

as the night progressed, they began to turn into a small pile

like offerings...

'something good will happen to me today'

i read on a post somewhere in blogland that one should say this each morning... like a mantra... if you think about it logically, naturally it will come true... there are no surprises or miracles here...
it's just a matter of seeing it! for surely, no matter what kind of day you have, something good does happen!
even on your most drawn out, dragged down day - something good happens... and if you cannot find it, then just remember - you helped the trees today just by breathing! you had a positive impact upon the environment and that is good for you... or in the craziness of the season with people as distracted as they are, you made it home safe and sound at the end of the day... at some point though, someone must have made you smile, or been kind... did they hold the door for you? did you hold the door for them?

'in the depths of winter i finally learned
there was in me an invincible summer.'
~ albert camus
'winterberries' was inspired by gorgeous silvered ivory glass by cindy gimbrone... it has been combined with copper, brass and sterling chain... like berries on a vine in winter, the headpins wrap around fibers and ribbon... a free form cluster hangs within a domed etched copper disc...

'our life is composed greatly from dreams,
from the unconscious,
and they must be brought into connection
with action.'
~ anais nin
'the interweaving' are textured, torched and colored copper woven with sterling wire around recycled banana fiber... i thought the purples were quite dreamy looking... i chose turquoise for its healing properties - and really, lapis seemed too obvious... i like the serenity of the green with the purples/pinks/blues...

be on the lookout!
something good will happen to you today -
