if you occasionally stop by my blog, you will surely have noticed that these petals are something i am working on...
immersing myself in...
experimenting with...
desiring to make many of...
in different metals
with a few choice phrases, words, mantras...
i happened to notice that i had surpassed 400 posts the other day...
my 400th is when the petals were born...
so i would like to share one with you to express my gratitude for your coming by and thoughtfully reading and expressing what you have to say -
just leave a comment, nothing fancy...
the recipient will be chosen on monday...
in peace -
mary jane

ReplyDeleteOne of the best things I learned in art school was to just keep working into a piece, keep pushing the boundaries of the idea and the design -- you have been delving into and exploring these leaves and they continue to evolve into something special. There are no coincidences, are there? 400 posts-- a feat to celebrate as well, as each one is its own little milestone with its well-thought out and expressed ideas. Congratulations! Here's to the next 400.
ReplyDeleteI love your petals what a simple design! Congrats on your blog and I hope that you keep going :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful petals ..... meditation petals. Congrats on your 400th post!
ReplyDeleteMD- amazing just how the posts tick by adding up so silently one at a tome. Great milestone - congratulations - and thanks for the continuing journey of your creations. I would really love to see what a stash of you mixed metal and mixed message petals look like. The soft shape of the petals certainly are in tune with the messages. Go well. B

Scott's blog led me here, Mary Jane. What exquisite work you are doing complimented by such glorious words. I'm afraid I can only appreciate the beauty of your art. Words are my only tool, but I relish visits to craftspeople like yourself. I'm pleased to meet you.

Hi Mary Jane-
ReplyDeleteI'm just back from travels and finally finding the time to catch up with friends-- I know your contest is over- but I'm taking the time anyway to tell you that these petals are fabulous. I love that you put words of strength and encouragement on them. AND I absolutely LOVE the tinge of pink.
Hmmmm- might these work for that special project I talked to you about?
I love that you are creating so earnestly-- and that you seem happy-
Love
Vicki
