today is the international day of peace... six months ago, a blog was started to invite makers and thinkers to participate in creating a ripple...
the peace/prayer flags i made are of metal, small in scale...
what strikes me so profoundly
is how sincerely everyone felt about it -
that is was no mere exercise in making with a 'theme' of peace flags,
but a heartfelt desire to come together, adding our thoughts and voices through the work to those already working tirelessly for peace - those who have come before us and those who live among us...
war rages as we speak, innocents die -
and so it becomes imperative to allow the work to infuse our everyday life...
to never forget, to never take anything for granted...
there is always time to add your thoughts and projects at the blog, simply contact me and we'll make it happen -
wishing you a most peaceful and inspiring day -
That is very lovely Mary Jane! Namaste...Kalaya

ReplyDeletePeace today, Maire! I'm inspired by the offerings so far!
ReplyDeleteMary Jane...they are just too beautiful for words! I love the thought of them hanging partially hidden in the trees...and imagine happening upon them unexpectedly...
ReplyDeleteMJ-thank you for throwing the peace pebble in the pod and starting a small but strong and colourful international peace ripple. Peace and power to you. B
ReplyDeleteThank you Mj for sending out the first ripples. It has been a beautiful project to be involved in and I have loved the many expressions of peace - all heartfelt and valuable. Your flags are precious pieces...
ReplyDeletePeace my friend, the war of the gods has been brought to the Earth to burden man. May we reverse the trend with the kindness of our hands xxxooo my hands were busy thinning the forest today , nature is beautiful!
ReplyDeletepeace takes many shapes, comes in many sizes, speaks many languages and is exquisitely beautiful, every single time. i love your flags, and like Thread Born, i love the notion that a girl could just happen upon them and be captivated. i'm so glad to be a part of this project . . .
