in celebration of light

these bits had been sitting on my bench -
the 'be still's have been incorporated into work and found new homes...

in this time of sadness,
let us shine light -

kindness requires an active way of being -

instead of just zoning out and being reactive,

you must be present and aware of how you are interacting with others.

in honor of the solstice

and love

and sharing,

i would like to offer these to you.

you will get both pairs -

one for you

and one to pass along.

just leave a comment here and make sure i have a way to contact you!

i will select a winner on new year's day -

  3. i came up with a new idea to spread kindness and love all year long. i call it Operation S.A.N.T.A. - simple acts of niceness to all. i want to set a good example to my almost 12 year old daughter who says she 'knows' all about santa. but santa is a spirit of giving and kindness and compassion that i want to keep alive all the time. thank you for sharing this simple act of niceness! enjoy the day. xo erin

  8. Be Kind. Such simple words that often are so hard to remember. I actually have those two little words taped to my monitor at work.

I would love to own another pair of your earrings.

  17. It would be lovely to share a pair of your beautiful earrings with Ann Curry, the NBC News journalist who suggested that we perform acts of kindness in memory of the children and adults who were victims of the violence in Newtown. It would be a lovely way to acknowledge Ann Curry's caring and generous spirit!

  18. MJ - a gentle and beautiful reminder that the way we change the world is one act of kindness and caring at a time. Each time we do these things, we lift the spirits of others and become better people ourselves. These are so beautiful...and reminders as well, to be kind to ourselves when we want to beat ourselves up over something...

  20. Mary Jane- I have been thinking about these words...be kind... to others, to ourselves. I look forward to your posts as they always make me stop and think. Thank you for this generous offer. I know that one of these would go to my mother...who has the difficult job of being a caretaker. I think she needs to be kinder to herself. I'm looking forward to visiting her and my dad in January. Hoping for you a happy, healthy and creative New Year. And yes...I am stitching up those peace flags!--Julie
